Choppers. Dirt bikes. Standards. The type of bike being built doesn’t matter. All bike builders are dreamers, and for those searching for obscure parts or maybe some new inspiration, there’s one place to be this July 11-13: the BikeBandit.com AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days Swap Meet, presented by Federal Motorcycle Transport, agent for STI.
"Everything vintage under the sun seems to come alive in the swap meet, including old bikes, old bike parts, vintage gear and more," said AMA Vice President of Operations Jeff Massey. "Think acres upon acres of old motorcycle glory, as far as the eye can see, just waiting to find new life in your next project. Or, consider doing what others have done and buy a running racer to compete in the vintage-racing program at the event. The deals are around every corner, and the possibilities are only limited by your imagination."
Vendors come from all over the country to display their parts, bikes and memorabilia. Bikes will include everything from vintage scooters to modern motocross bikes. There will be nearly show-worthy originals and a few less-than-perfect survivors.
More than 330 vendors are registered for almost 700 spaces, and more are expected to sign up at the event.
"If you love riding or restoring old motorcycles, there’s no cooler place to be this weekend than BikeBandit.com AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days," Massey said. "Come by Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and complete your next restoration or get that favorite old runner back on the highway."
