Viper Motorcycle Company Lands Barnett Harley-Davidson As New Dealer

Viper Motorcycle Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Viper Powersports Inc., recently announced its newest dealer, Barnett Harley-Davidson of El Paso, Texas.

Viper Motorcycle Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Viper Powersports Inc., recently announced its newest dealer, Barnett Harley-Davidson of El Paso, Texas.

Terry Nesbitt, president of Viper Motorcycle Company said, “Signing Barnett Harley-Davidson as a Viper dealer is very exciting and affords us the opportunity to develop a relationship with the world’s largest Harley dealer. Barnett Harley-Davidson is an iconic brand in itself, a great business and a platform enabling Viper to grow our brand while providing Barnett Harley-Davidson a unique niche product line.”

According to Mark Barnett, owner/GM of Barnett Harley-Davidson, “Viper has a great product. The new Ilmor engine feels like a small V8, it has other worldly power. Plus this bike runs very smoothly, shifts well and stays cool. There wasn’t a lot of heat coming off the motor like with so many other large displacement twins. Overall, the bike felt very refined and is in its own super power cruiser niche, one I think many customers would enjoy.”

Nesbitt continued, “Mark was very gracious with his time in allowing many employees to ride the Diamondback and even called some key customers in hopes that they would offer an opinion and have possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride a motorcycle with a 152 cubic inch, 2508 cc power plant. After speaking with numerous employees and customers, I know they enjoyed the experience and I was excited with the feedback and just plain fun we had that day.

“Signing Barnett Harley-Davidson is a coup. It’s an impressive business and our mutual opportunities are endless. It’s also very gratifying that we can attract such a visible and successful dealer like Barnett. We are still relatively new to the market but knowing we can attract these key dealers is an indication of what we can offer moving forward and an understanding that the timing and positioning of our products is excellent and in demand.”

Nesbitt concluded, “2011 Diamondback’s are shipping with an excellent retail sell-thru. The first bikes are sold and customers are patiently waiting as we make deliveries. With the all new designed 152 Ilmor engine, a new Baker 6 speed and many other updates, the new bikes are even more unique with noticeably more power and an OEM smoothness/ride like none before.”

John Silseth, Viper Powersports CEO and founder said, “In 2009 Viper Motorcycle Company achieved 50 State EPA Certifications, development of a dealer base that represents some of the most successful, recognizable and capable dealers in the U.S, and a successful delivery of our Diamondback motorcycles into the marketplace. We see 2010-’11 as potentially being an even more eventful breakout and transformative year.”

Viper Powersports designs, manufactures and markets a line of premium American V-Twin Super Cruiser motorcycles, V-Twin aftermarket engines and other related aftermarket products through an independent dealer network. Joint venture partner Ilmor Engineering (www.ilmor.com), provides technical developmental support for the proprietary 152 cubic inch Viper V-Twin engine, utilizing their 25 years of engine design expertise, ensuring Vipers’ long term success as America’s newest domestic OEM of motorcycles.
