The MPN team has arrived in Cologne for INTERMOT 2018, and we’re brushing up on the final preparations.
There’s going to be a lot to see, and we’re starting to feel the excitement in the air. The website proclaims “no break, no boredom, no end of fun,” and we can see that this year’s show is shaping up to deliver on their promises.
Several events are scheduled at INTERMOT that we won’t want to miss. We will be sharing as many storylines with our readers as we can fit into the INTERMOT Live newsletter, which will be produced daily from Oct. 2- Oct. 4. There will be a host of new launches and product innovations by motorcycle and accessories manufacturers from around the world, with complete product ranges of more than 1,000 exhibitors and brands, and so many events from stunt shows to the 1/8 mile sprints that it’s hard to keep track.
The days will be packed with motorcycle action and plenty of business. Trade visitors can spend time in the exclusive Dealers’ Lounge to do business with industry contacts and decision makers. A whole day is reserved for trade visitors on Tues., October 2. Everything is lined up at INTERMOT for trade visitors to conduct business.
Some of the highlights of the week include the Night of the Jumps, held on Oct. 6, and will feature a spectacular aerial show to battle for the title of World Champion in Freestyle Motocross at the Lanxess Arena.
The Boulevard of Touring invites attendees to experience an endless row of touring motorcycles to check out the features and what they offer.
If that’s not enough exhilaration, check out the European Street Freestyle Cup. The top 40 stunt riders converge on Cologne and perform unbelievable stunts and outrageous acts. It’s taking place over three days and you may not want to miss any of it.
INTERMOT Customized, which features the AMD World Championship of Bike Building, an event that stops off in Cologne every two years. The world’s top customizers will be putting themselves before an international jury with their spectacular bike builds. The world title is traditionally awarded in the FreeStyle Class – all modifications are accepted here. Alongside this, customizing specialists will be showcasing their impressive creativity in the four other categories Retro/Modified, Modified Harley-Davidson, Performance and Café Racer.
There is so much packed into this show, one may never want to leave. The event will also host a barbershop and tattoo parlor, so you may not need to leave.
MPN‘s Editor-at-Large Brendan Baker and Managing Editor Eric Garbe will bring you all of the breaking news from the show, so you won’t miss a thing.
