Bureau of Land Management to Hold Open Planning Revision Process

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently announced that it is holding listening sessions to discuss revisions to how it develops and updates Resource Management Plans (RMPs). If you can't attend in person the Denver meeting will have a livestream option for people to participate remotely.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently announced that it is holding listening sessions to discuss revisions to how it develops and updates Resource Management Plans (RMPs). As planning sets the stage for how all multiple uses will be handled at individual units it is important that the recreation community have its voice heard on how important responsible access is. If you can’t attend in person the Denver meeting will have a livestream option for people to participate remotely. 

Below is text from the announcement from BLM: 

Dear Interested Public, 

As part of its ongoing effort to refine its land use planning process, the BLM will hold two public listening sessions in Denver and Sacramento.   Both meetings will provide an overview of the Planning 2.0 initiative as well as a group discussion on methods to improve the BLM’s planning process. 

The Denver meeting will convene October 1, 2014, 1pm to 5pm, MDT, at the Denver Marriott West, 1717 Denver West Boulevard, Golden, CO 80401.  The Denver meeting will have a livestream option for people to participate remotely.  The meeting can be accessed at www.blm.gov/live/.  

The Sacramento meeting will take place October 7, 2014, 1pm to 5pm, at the Double Tree by Hilton Sacramento, 2001 Point West Way, Sacramento, CA 95815. 

Individuals interested in preregistration for the listening sessions or subscription to the Planning 2.0 email contact list can contact the agency through the project’s website at www.blm.gov/plan2. Pre-registration is optional and is intended to help us plan for meeting setup.  

Interested public that cannot attend either meeting can still provide written input for consideration. More information is available on the project’s website.
