Kriega R20 Backpack Enters Hall of Fame

Kriega R20 earns a worldwide win for motorcycling. The innovative motorcycle backpack defeats competition from some of the most iconic ‘carry’ products and well-known brands in the world to claim prestigious international design award and enters the Carryology ‘Carry Hall of Fame.’

Kriega motorcycle backpacks routinely win motorcycle media group tests and ‘shoot-outs’ and are consistently awarded five-star reviews by journalists and consumers alike. But the latest in this long line of awards is especially significant for the Chester UK-based company, because – for the first time – the competition was not just limited to products from the motorcycling sector.

Pitted against timeless classics ranging from the ubiquitous JanSport Daypack – used as a book bag by school kids and college students for decades – to high-end hiking packs, stylish briefcases, designer wallets and even the iconic WWII Jerry Can, public opinion still went with the Kriega R20.

Voted for by visitors to the hugely popular lifestyle website Carryology.com, the ‘Carry Hall of Fame’ identifies, “…gear that has helped really shape our industry… Carry pieces that connected with customers in a new way, opened up new markets, new ways to carry, or just nailed it and hit perfection.”

With the votes counted, Managing Editor of Carryology, Michael Knipsel, declared:

“… It’s the Kriega that we feel has the most relevance to carry today. Kriega has two of the earliest and best examples of ‘active harnesses’, with packs that can bend and twist with you no matter how excited you get on a motorcycle. This is a tiny powerhouse of a brand, with loads for our whole industry to learn from.”

The Carryology award comes hot on the heels of another mainstream heavyweight, Condé Nast title WIRED, singling out the Kriega R25 backpack as one of their favorite pieces of motorcycle equipment and, “one of the best bike bags out there.”
