Scorpion Sports Inc. has announced the hiring of Jayson Wickenkamp as its national sales manager.
“We are incredibly excited to bring Jayson on board to oversee our national sales strategy and rebuild our dealer-direct philosophy that has been so successful for Scorpion in the past," said John Kim, VP of business operations. "As the former brand manager at KLIM, along with his industry knowledge and history of building successful sales teams, Jayson brings a unique set of skills to the table that we believe will propel Scorpion to new heights.”
The hiring caps a string of recent moves at SSI, which has returned the sales of its helmet and apparel lines back in-house and away from multiple distribution or third party sales management strategies.
“Scorpion has made some really exciting changes over the past few months that position the company to be very streamlined and effective as we move back to a dealer-direct business model,” said Wickenkamp. “Moving our California office and warehouse to a new facility in Santa Fe Springs, rebuilding and restructuring our internal staff, and most recently parting ways with Tucker Rocky are all part of a larger plan for the future success of Scorpion here in the United States.”
The goal for Scorpion will be to return to a boutique approach, servicing dealers and putting the focus back on the brand while increasing direct communication with its dealer network.
“With all these positive changes and some really invigorating new products coming out this spring, there is a surge of energy around the brand again that is infectious. It’s a very exciting time to a part of the Scorpion team,” said Wickenkamp.
