Suzuki Announces 2020 Models Including KATANA

Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. announced the new 2020 KATANA will officially arrive on American soil in two color schemes that matches the look of the original 1982 version.

After the dramatic and cutting edge unveiling that enthralled the industry during the International Motorcycle Shows in Long Beach and New York, enthusiasts everywhere have been eager for details about the U.S. arrival of the new KATANA. Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. announced the new 2020 KATANA will officially arrive on American soil in two color schemes, adding a new Solid Black along with the Metallic Mystic Silver color that matches the look of the original 1982 version, and will be available in dealers this November at a price of $13,499.

Paying tribute to the original Katana while embracing its Japanese culture with key styling cues, the new KATANA combines its breathtaking look with modern, liter-class sportbike performance and a neo-retro flair that is ready to make its mark on the streets. This stunning motorcycle will attract a variety of riders, especially those who value owning a unique motorcycle that delivers an exciting riding experience and to seasoned riders who fondly remember the original Katana and will want their new KATANA ride linked to history.

In addition to the return of an icon, Suzuki also debuts a new V-Strom 650XT Adventure model for 2020 that comes equipped with high-quality, adventure-ready accessories. Plus, other 2020 carryover street, sport, cruiser, dualsport and scooter models return with new colors and graphics to bring style along on every Suzuki ride.

KATANA
Through its products, Suzuki has embraced its Japanese heritage and has found opportunities to celebrate beautiful, unique aspects of its society and nature. The new KATANA faithfully honors that commitment while finding a bold new expression for Suzuki technology and styling. The KATANA blends the proven performance of a long-stroke GSX-R1000 engine, the solid stability of the GSX-S1000 chassis and an ergonomically comfortable riding position. The KATANA’s dramatic bodywork rests upon a twin-spar, aluminum alloy frame, and Superbike-type braced swingarm that provides great road holding performance.

2020 V-Strom Models
Renowned for versatility, reliability, and value, Suzuki’s V-Strom 650 models have attracted scores of riders who use their motorcycles for touring, commuting or just a fun ride.

Ready to take on any journey that gets thrown its way is the new V-Strom 650XT Adventure. The latest addition to the V-Strom family arrives with exquisite Pearl Vigor Blue bodywork and adventure-ready tubeless-spoke wheels, aluminum panniers, rugged accessory bar, handlebar cross brace and mirror extensions. The V-Strom 650XT Adventure is so ready to travel, riders just need to add a map.

Returning for 2020, the standard V-Strom 650 steps in with a new Solid Iron Gray paint scheme while the V-Strom 650XT in Glass Sparkle Black shows off its tubeless, spoke-style wheels with gold-anodized rims.

2020 Hayabusa
The Hayabusa continues to be the ultimate sportbike, revered by riders and the Powersports Industry alike. The Hayabusa’s stunning acceleration and crisp throttle response is a preview of the bike’s top-end charge and astounding speed potential. For 2020, the falcon-inspired Hayabusa arrives at Suzuki dealers with new Candy Daring Red and Metallic Thunder Gray colors on its sleek, aerodynamic bodywork. Under that deep paint the 1340ccm four-cylinder, DOHC engine provides smooth, electric-like power. Thanks to a lightweight and rigid twin-spar aluminum frame and state-of-the-art-suspension, the Hayabusa delivers impressive handling, proving exceptional control in tight corners and a smooth ride on the highway.

2020 Sportbikes
Born from Suzuki’s commitment to engineering excellence and performance, the GSX-R1000 continues to Own the Racetrack and remains the winningest bike in AMA/MotoAmerica Superbike history.

The 2020 GSX-R1000R brings top-shelf Showa BFF suspension, adjustable swingarm pivot and stainless steel front brake lines in addition to its suite of electronic rider aids that includes a bidirectional quick shifter, multi-level traction control, adjustable power levels and launch control. The 2020 GSX-R1000 employs the same potent engine, frame and brakes while using a Showa Big Piston Fork, along with a standard bi-directional quick shift system that benefits street riding or track day action.

Suzuki’s other Supersport superstars, the GSX-R750 and GSX-R600, return to the 2020 lineup with colors and graphics packages that are as sharp as their handling.

The 2020 Suzuki GSX250R remains the smart choice in the lightweight, sportbike class with new colors to take on the street. It blends performance, comfort, style, reliability, and value along with its sibling GSX250R ABS model that matches its stopping power to the roads available traction with its anti-lock brakes.

2020 GSX-S Models
The GSX-S model lineup is far beyond standard. Each of these naked sportbikes for 2020 pulses with the soul of a Supersport GSX-R powerplant while having the chassis and ergonomics that can handle any type of rider preference.

The GSX-S750 models inherit their heart and soul from Suzuki’s MotoGP race experience and the 30-year heritage of the GSX-R750. With strong, torque-rich engine power and a suite of rider-assist features, both the GSX-S750 and the GSX-S750 ABS are ready to capture hearts and turn heads as the performance leader in its class.

2020 SV Models
Announced just last year and quickly becoming a leader in the Suzuki  lineup, the SV650X returns after capturing the attention of riders with its versatile V-twin engine and café racer-styled personality. The SV650X rolls again in 2020 with new Glass Sparkle Black paint, a headlight cowl and frame covers that mimic a half-fairing, a sporty riding position with clip-on handlebars and a pair of four-piston front brake calipers that deliver racetrack caliber stopping performance.

The SV650 and SV650 ABS are also back with new, contrasting body and frame colors. Whether equipped with conventional handlebars or clip-on’s like the SV650X, each SV-model is the fastest way to pure, sportbike fun.

2020 DualSport & SuperMoto Models
For riders who love bikes with versatility or listen for the call of the wild, Suzuki’s DualSport machines deliver comfort on the street, control off the beaten path, and full command everywhere in between. Joining the 2020 DR650S that was announced earlier this summer, the DR-Z400S and DR200S join  Suzuki’s DualSport lineup with new colors and graphics, adding more personality to their renowned reliability, strong on and off-road performance and unmatched value.

Suzuki’s SuperMoto DR-Z400SM delivers unmatched pavement excitement and fun with its off-road soul. The bike’s 398cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine propels a nimble chassis that has an MX-style inverted fork, large diameter floating front brake rotor, and wide, spoke-style wheels with high-grip sportbike rubber to deliver an exhilarating riding experience.

2020 Cruiser Models
Ranging from a powerful 109 cubic inch muscle cruiser that rumbles with some of the largest pistons of any production motorcycle to a pair of classically styled, 805cc V-twin cruisers with unequalled comfort the Boulevards are as impressive as their look, reliability, and value.

The dark and muscular M109R B.O.S.S. hits the road in 2020 with new Pearl Glacier White/Glass Sparkle Black or Metallic Gray/Glass Sparkle Black color schemes that showcase its powerful V-twin engine. The Boulevard C50 and C50T return with new paint work that stamps a bold impression on traditional cruiser styling whether in town or on the open highway. 2020 Scooter Models
Suzuki’s compact Burgman 200 draws admiration as it continues to set convenience and performance standards for scooters while solidifying its reputation for unmatched luxury and quality. Arriving for 2020 with a Pearl Brilliant White bodywork, the Burgman 200 covers a fuel-efficient engine tuned for optimal commuting performance.
