Did you catch the Preston Petty Products display at AIMExpo? Polisport Off-Road and Strictly Hodaka LLC’s Paul Stannard have teamed up to take the remaking and rebuilding of the iconic brand to the next level.
“After a few years in R&D we have finally achieved the high quality and standards the brand deserves,” exclaims Stannard. “We couldn’t be happier with Polisport as our manufacturing and worldwide distributor, they see the same vision and want the brand back as much as we all do.”
Stannard said he thought the Preston Petty product line would be a good fit for his company because many of the original Hodaka fenders were actually Petty. After searching U.S. Patents and Trademarks, he found that the Preston Petty trademark was currently available, but he thought it necessary to call Preston himself first, before he went any further.
“I explained to Preston my ideas and asked for his blessing, which he gladly gave with one of his smiles. He even went as far as writing a letter on my behalf to the Trademark office offering no opposition, only support for me to use his name. Of course if Preston had said no then I would have respected his wishes,” said Stannard.
Polisport will begin worldwide distribution of the classic Preston Petty Products MX front and rear fenders, mudders, headlight number plates and more.
