ChannelAdvisor, a global e-commerce software provider that helps retailers increase sales across online channels, has announced that it will host a joint webinar with eBay Motors on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. EDT (10 a.m. PDT) to educate retailers on the benefits of parts compatibility for the motorcycle parts and accessories categories. Parts compatibility, also referred to as fitment, simplifies the listing process for powersports sellers and boosts consumer confidence by ensuring that items are well-suited for specific vehicles. Retailers using fitment have seen sales increase by more than 30 percent.
“Our goal with this webinar is to introduce motorcycle retailers to parts compatibility for motorcycle parts and accessories categories,” said eBay Motors Technical Account Manager Todd Ainsworth. “Powersports sellers can really benefit from using this program, saving time and money by reducing the number of listings that need to be created. Now, a single listing describing a part or accessory can be associated with multiple compatible motorcycles to help ensure shoppers that they are getting the exact part that they need.”
In addition to reducing listing volume, fitment produces better search results on eBay and search engines such as Google and Yahoo by using the standardized vehicle information and the product title to match search queries. Buyers can now be more confident when making a part or accessories purchase since only the listings that match a specific vehicle’s year, make and model are delivered in the search results.
