Casual Gear Guide

The draw to an alluringly edgy lifestyle brings many riders (and wannabes) into your store. Motorcycle culture is about more than the wind-in-your hair freedom — it’s a culture (or perhaps counter-culture) that provides a sense of identity. And even though you can take the man off of his bike, you can’t take the biker out of the man, or woman for that matter! That’s why we give you our annual look at casual apparel. Your customers can’t ride 24-7, but that doesn’t mean they can’t gear up to represent the lifestyle they love. Fashion wear could easily represent a major chunk of your apparel sales, but you’ve got to make sure to display these impulse items front and center in your gear department, so riders can stock up on these wardrobe staples. Our smokin’ apparel spreads on the next few pages represent just a few of the casual gear offerings for ’08 — mostly hitting on ladies looks, because let’s face it, who wants to look at a bunch of dudes in T-shirts?

Answer’s Classix tank comes in small to XL for $24.95. The cozy fleece Track Jacket runs for $50.95 and the matching pant is $38.95 complete with backside Answer badge.

The aptly named Fly Hottie Hoody is also available in blue in sizes XS-XL retailing at $39.95.

Available in small to 3XL, the simple Fly Flower Tee is available in black (as seen here) or in white for $21.95.

It’s no boys allowed over at VaVaVroom! Check out the Those Girls tee seen here in red, also available in yellow, for $26.

The VaVaVroom V-Twin look is available in a scoop tee in black, a red tank or the Vintage Twofer tee in military green, giving girls the layered look for $38.

Throttle Threads, which you may know for its Kustom Shopwear, has expanded its retail line. Seen here at left is the Skull T worn over the Superstar Thermal. At right the Glitter Crest Shop Shirt is also worn over a Superstar Thermal. Both are available through Parts Unlimited/Drag Specialties.

While not full-time apparel players, Twin Power, like many makers of hard parts and accessories, also has a softer side, giving us this trio of hot halters. Wanna represent your favorite brand? Call up their website, and chances are they carry a limited soft goods lineup.

MSR caps off both of these looks, starting with the Icon hat seen here in white, but also available in black. At right, Justyn shows off the Disorder hat. Both lids retail for $21.99. The $19.95 white Sketched shirt is just one of many casual tees for guys available from Answer. Talk to your TR rep to get the low-down on the full Answer and MSR casual gear lines.

Landmaster is continuing to grow by adding over an additional 90 new dealers to its national and international mix of dealers. Landmaster’s primary focus this year has been adding dealers in the farm and agriculture segment. “By taking on the Landmaster product, several of our large implement and tractor dealers are starting to see more residential-based consumers stop by their dealership vs. the typical farm and commercial user. Prior to this, dealers primarily dealt with commercial and farm customers; now dealers can benefit by selling our UTVs along with their other products to the residential large landowner,” commented David Piercy, director of marketing for Landmaster.
