Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) has signed an agreement with ADP Lightspeed to provide its dealers the opportunity to post their inventory and consult BRP’s inventory as well as other participating dealers.
Since December 1, 2011, all BRP dealers using Lightspeed NXT as their dealer management systems (DMS) are able to use the Parts Locator, a function offered in the DMS.
This is a clear step towards creating a global network that will optimize turns on inventory while reducing lost sales due to out-of-stock items, according to the company. To kick-off the deployment, ADP Lightspeed and BRP have agreed to subsidize the Parts Locator’s fee until December 2012. For dealers not using ADP Lightspeed, the Parts Locator will be available through BRP’s dealer portal.
“Developing dealer to dealer communication on parts, accessories and riding gear (PAC) will improve product availability and reduce consumers’ down time, while leveraging our network’s inventory,” said Sandy Scullion, vice president, PAC and global distribution at BRP. “BRP is committed to building the best dealer value proposition in the industry, and the technology ADP Lightspeed brings will further improve on our service promise.”
