Baja Designs continues its 25-plus years of innovation with the all-new, compact S1 LED auxiliary light. Focused on creating the most powerful yet compact light in the world, Baja Designs employed its proprietary optical designs, refined through rigorous real-world testing and created this robust and sleek-looking 2.1-in. light, which emits 2,375 lumens from a single LED.
Even better, Baja Designs offers the S1 in a wide variety of beam patterns and lens color options to fit multiple applications: long-distance spot with 9-degree beam focus, wide cornering with a horizontal-flattened 42-degree beam in clear or amber lenses, 60-degree work/scene, which projects a smooth, wide circle perfect for illuminating camp and work spaces.
In addition, a long-distance laser variation is scheduled for release later in 2019. Each patent-pending S1 light weighs less than a half pound, and each pair ships with a wiring harness and stainless-steel mounting brackets.
“The new S1 is the most versatile light introduced in our 25-year history,” says Baja Designs Marketing Manager Chris Fortunato. “It can be used for forward projection in automotive, UTV, and other powersports applications. Rear-facing, the S1 is ideal for Reverse and dust lighting. It also adapts easily to recreational and industrial work/scene lighting. An S1 helmet-light solution is also offered through MotoMinded.”
As with all other Baja Designs lights, the new S1 is designed, engineered, and assembled in the USA and is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty — thanks in part to aluminum housings that are MIL-STD-810G impact-compliant. Most convenient for the user is Baja Designs’ proprietary uService feature. This employs replaceable O-ring seals between the hard-coated polycarbonate lens, bezel and aluminum housing, allowing lenses and beam-pattern optics to be easily changed at home or even in the field.
ClearView is Baja Designs’ system that uses proprietary computer-designed optics to provide smooth illumination in one or more of the eight specific lighting zones. Further, MoistureBlock technology guarantees that all Baja Designs lights are waterproof, rain-proof and submersible to IP69K standards; it also prevents moisture from wicking through the wiring into the light housing.
Another unique Baja Designs feature is CopperDrive. Using copper-core circuit boards and additional thermal-management features assures that Baja Designs LED lights are driven at 100% power.
Finally, the LEDs have a natural-daylight 5000K color temperature to minimize eye-fatigue. MSRP for the single Baja Designs S1 kit is $109.95; suggested retail price per pair is $208.95.
