CAKE, the Swedish manufacturer of lightweight electric off-road performance motorcycles, announced that the brand’s first street legal bike, the Kalk&, developed to combine off-road performance with urban clean, quiet and efficient commuting, is now shipping to customers across North America and Europe. In tandem with the first deliveries, CAKE hosted a Manhattan media launch with test rides around the city.

“This is a giant step for us in line with the CAKE mission; inspiring towards zero emission, combining excitement with responsibility.
With the need for new means of transportation, vehicles, propellants and infrastructure at large, together with a growing population of people to support the collective obligation towards the planet by committing to respect, responsibility and sustainability, this is CAKE’s and CAKE customers first contribution to urban cleaning,” said Stefan Ytterborn, founder and CEO of CAKE.

Engineered for the outback and allowed for your daily commute, the CAKE Kalk& is a super light electric motorcycle certified for street use, deriving from its precursor, the pure off-road Kalk OR. The concept behind the first street legal motorcycle is to combine the performance and excellence for off-road use, with the benefits of efficiency and lack of pollution and noise to become the ultimate vessel for urban commuting. The off-road performance attributes make it the perfect dual-use vehicle: during weekends, at the summer house, off the car excursion pathfinder.

Developed from scratch to be ultra lightweight with unprecedented reliability and durability, offering industry-leading performance and countless riding possibilities, the motorcycle breaks barriers as the first performance bike that carries a street legal title. The Kalk& is just the beginning of CAKE’s line of motorbikes to come.
