Brian Tadeo, of Jurupa Valley, Calif., is the owner of a Yamaha Super Ténéré after his name was selected in the 2015 AMA Member Sweepstakes, the American Motorcyclist Association has announced.

“I am still in disbelief that I won,” said the 31-year-old, who has been an AMA member since 2007. “I have never really won anything before, let alone a motorcycle and better yet a Yamaha Super Ténéré. I sat in my chair at my office and was thinking, ‘Oh man, I must have fallen asleep and was dreaming this.’ I am just ear-to-ear smiles.”

The Super Ténéré was one of two motorcycles awarded in the sweepstakes, along with four Tom-Tom GPS units, a Cardo Systems/Scala Rider G9 communications set, a Shark Kage ramp and 12 Guardian Weatherall Plus motorcycle covers. The other motorcycle was a Suzuki Boulevard 109R.

“We are thrilled that Brian is the grand prize winner of the Yamaha Super Ténéré,” said Martin Vivanco, retail sales promotion manager for Yamaha Motor Corp. USA. “The Super Ténéré was designed for the Adventure riding enthusiast who wants to explore the path less taken. Brain’s competitive spirit will be a great match for the Ténéré, and we hope to see him at a round of the AMA Super Ténéré National Adventure Riding Series.”

Designed to ride for extended periods across just about any kind of navigable terrain in comfort and style, the Yamaha Super Ténéré serves as the perfect inspiration for the AMA National Adventure Riding Series. The bike, known as the ultimate transcontinental adventure machine, features an inline twin-cylinder engine, electronic cruise control, wind protection and heated grips as standard equipment. It also has sport and touring drive modes, traction control, anti-lock brakes, an adjustable seat and more.

The sweepstakes was open to all AMA members who joined or renewed during 2015. In addition, riders participating in the 2015 Yamaha Super Ténéré AMA National Adventure Riding Series earned additional entries in the sweepstakes.

Independent auditing and accounting firm Rea & Associates Inc., administered the sweepstakes.

Tadeo joined the AMA to race in AMA-sanctioned events.

“I keep my AMA membership current for a few reasons, the main being the AMA helps keep our shrinking riding areas open,” he said. “I personally think anyone who rides a motorcycle should have a current AMA membership, even if you never plan to race. The next reason is I have to have a membership in order to race different series that are AMA sanctioned. I will be a lifetime member of the AMA, even when my racing days are over, because they support the sport that I love.”

Those joining or renewing their AMA memberships between Jan. 1, 2016, and Dec. 31, 2016, are automatically entered to win any of these 16 great prizes:

  • A Yamaha Super Ténéré
  • One of four TomTom Rider 400 GPS units (one per quarter)
  • A Cardo Systesm/Scala Rider Packtalk Duo
  • A Shark Kage ramp
  • One of 12 Guardian Weatherall Plus motorcycle covers
