American Motorcyclist Association Announces Additions to AMA Board of Directors

The American Motorcyclist Association has ratified three new board members. David Foley, Harley-Davidson Motor Co., was approved as an AMA Business Member representative, Tony Moseley was ratified as an individual member representative, filling a vacancy in the South Central Region, and Jerry Abboud was appointed as an at-large director.

The American Motorcyclist Association has announced that the AMA Board of Directors ratified three new board members at a Friday, March 27, board meeting in Stecoah, N.C.

David Foley, Harley-Davidson Motor Co., was approved as an AMA Business Member representative. Tony Moseley, from Fort Worth, Texas, was ratified as an individual member representative, filling a vacancy in the South Central Region. Jerry Abboud, from Thornton, Colo., was appointed as an at-large director.

“The AMA Board of Directors welcomes David, Tony and Jerry,” said AMA Board Chair Maggie McNally-Bradshaw. “We’re pleased that these exceptionally talented individuals and dedicated motorcyclists have agreed to volunteer their time and expertise to the service of the AMA. We’re looking forward to their contributions.”

Foley, vice president of parts, accessories and customization, is responsible for developing new motorcycle accessories as well as managing global portfolios of parts and accessories for Harley-Davidson. In prior roles, he was responsible for developing new markets in regions where the motorcycle culture was limited and regulations were extremely restrictive. Foley replaces Harley-Davidson’s Scott Miller on the board. Foley’s term expires December 2016.

Individual representative Moseley has been riding since 1968 and currently is most active in vintage motocross and cross-country racing. His professional experience includes 30 years in the motorcycle industry as a district sales manager and regional sales director. He is an AMA Life Member and originally joined in 1974. His term expires December 2017.

Abboud, a Colorado attorney, has a long history of defending motorcyclists’ rights, both on- and off-highway. He started and managed the Colorado OHV Coalition (COHVCO), has worked extensively with the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to expand riding opportunities, and fought, and won, against the city of Denver when it attempted to ban motorcycles from high-occupancy vehicle lanes. Abboud’s appointment will be presented for confirmation to the individual AMA members at the annual member meeting in October. His current term expires December 2017.
