Akrapovic’s Evolution Exhaust Wins Prestigious Red Dot Award

The Evolution exhaust system for the Ducati 1199 Panigale by Slovenian manufacturer Akrapovic convinced an international jury at the Red Dot competition and won the Best of the Best award, which is the most prestigious award for an individual category.

Slovenian exhaust system manufacturer Akrapovič won the prestigious Red Dot: Best of the Best design award for its Evolution exhaust system for the Ducati 1199 Panigale. The exhaust system convinced the international jury on account of its quality and groundbreaking design and received the top prize that is awarded every year for the best achievements in product design. The award is an important recognition of the company’s efforts through the years to reach and exceed high design standards with its products.

The winning exhaust system was first introduced to the public at the EICMA 2012 show and is the flagship model of the exhaust system product range. Building upon 23 years of experience, Akrapovič has produced an exhaust system that reinforces the position of Evolution line products as the best sports exhausts on the market. At the same time, the winning exhaust system is the only one on the market that is made entirely from titanium alloy and offers superior power and torque gain compared to the standard model despite its low weight and outstanding high temperature resistance. It will be on display at the special Red Dot Design Museum in Essen as well as featured in the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2014/15.

Red Dot is considered one of the largest and most recognized international product design competitions. Akrapovič’s competition this year consisted of more than 4,800 products by more than 1,800 manufacturers, designers and architects from 53 countries. The distinguished award was received by only 1.5 percent of all competitors.
