Royal Enfield’s Build. Train. Race. Program Kicks off its 2023 Road Racing Season at Road America

The series’ second year is focused on inspiring a new generation of women riders.

The Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. (BTR) Road Racing program kicked off its 2023 season June 3-4 at Road America in Elkhart, Wisconsin. The hot June weather didn’t deter local fans, who came out in droves to watch the action and to meet and take pictures with each of the racers.

After months of building and training on custom Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 motorcycles, excitement was high among each of the 12 riders participating in this year’s series. And the races did not disappoint.

Each veteran rider significantly improved her lap time at Road America over last year, a testament to the hard work that has been put into preparing for this season. However, despite the fierce competition on the track, rivalry quickly turned to camaraderie in the pits, with each racer helping each other with bike adjustments and race strategies.

“We couldn’t have imagined a better way to kick off our 2023 season,” said Freddie Spencer, three-time Grand Prix champion and riding coach for the Build. Train. Race. Road Racing program. “We came into the weekend with two goals: to have fun and to see progress, and we saw that and so much more. The energy at Road America was absolutely electric, and it’s inspiring to see that enthusiasm for women’s motorcycle racing is greater than ever.”

Royal Enfield’s Build. Train. Race. program is the first-of-its-kind, all-woman initiative that teaches building and racing motorcycles. With a format that brings riders together from various backgrounds and riding experience to compete in different track events, the program celebrates women and motorcycle culture in North America. Now in its second season, this year’s BTR Road Racing program features six new and six returning riders racing on four classic racetracks across the country.

The next race in the BTR Road Racing series will be held June 23-24 at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Washington. Also upcoming is the third race in BTR’s Flat Track series, held on July 1 at the West Virginia Half-Mile. For more information on Royal Enfield’s Build. Train. Race.
