Royal Enfield’s BTR Flat Track Program Kicks Off 2023 at Dallas Half-Mile

Morgan Monroe scored first-place in a thrilling start to the BTR season.

The Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. (BTR) Flat Track program held the first full-grid race of the 2023 season at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. In an exhilarating start to the season, five new riders joined five returning competitors on the track at the Dallas Half-Mile event.

Now in its fourth season, Royal Enfield’s Build. Train. Race. program is the first of its kind: an all-woman initiative that teaches building and racing motorcycles. With a format that brings riders together from various backgrounds to compete in different track events, the program uniquely highlights women and motorcycle culture in North America. This year, the 10 women of BTR Flat Track were thrilled to start the season on the half-mile speedway known for its black clay racetrack.

Morgan Monroe took the honors of placing first in the opening race of the 2023 season. She was able to fend off Kenzie Luker, who finished 0.638 seconds behind her at the checkered flag. Returning BTR rider Zaria Martens joined them at the podium with a third-place finish.

“We could not script a better start to the Build. Train. Race. Flat Track season. All 10 BTR Flat Track women brought their best to the track today,” said Adrian Sellers, head – custom and motorsport at Royal Enfield. “While the women in BTR all come from different backgrounds, they share a passion for bike racing in a supportive but competitive racing environment. That competitive spirit, combined with a willingness from the riders to share their feedback and advice with each other, is what makes Royal Enfield’s Build. Train. Race. program so special.”

With the BTR Flat Track season underway, the riders will hit the track again on May 6 in Ventura, California, at the Ventura Short-Track. Additional races will be held July 1 at the West Virginia Half-Mile and July 22 at the Bridgeport Half-Mile. In addition to the Flat Track, BTR’s road racing program will hold its first event beginning June 2-4 at Road America in Elkhart, Wisconsin. For more information on Royal Enfield’s Build. Train.
