Polaris Slingshot, the three-wheeled, open-air roadster, and Best Friends Animal Society, a leading national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters, are redefining the “dog days of summer” through a give-back promotion. In celebration of International Dog Day on Aug. 26, Slingshot is donating $100 for every Slingshot sold in the month of August to Best Friends. With a goal of raising up to $40,000, the money will be used by Best Friends to help tens of thousands of animals through outreach and rescue programs all across the country.
In addition, participating Slingshot dealerships will serve as a pet supply donation center, where anyone can stop by to donate a variety of pet needs, including food and water dishes, toys, pet beds and more. Each participating dealer will collect animal supplies and deliver to a local Best Friends location or to one of their more than 2,700 network partners across the country. “We have seen first-hand the love our Slingshot owners have for their dogs, as many of them enjoy the open-air driving experience with their pet,” said Chris Sergeant, vice president of Slingshot. “In the spirit of our Summer of Fun campaign, we wanted to acknowledge the ‘dog days of summer’ and celebrate International Dog Day by raising money and awareness to promote pet adoption. Our partnership with Best Friends accomplishes just that.”
The donation to the Best Friends is part of Slingshot’s summer long “Summer of Fun” campaign highlighted by a consumer sweepstakes encouraging consumers to enjoy the warm weather in a Slingshot until the end of summer on Sept. 22. As the “official vehicle of summer fun,” Slingshot will award two grand prize winners with a once-in-a-lifetime driving experience on the iconic Road to Hana in Maui, Hawaii.
Consumers have three unique and fun ways to enter the sweepstakes. Entrants can test drive a Slingshot, rent a Slingshot or share their experience in a Slingshot on social media. To test drive, entrants should go to their favorite Polaris Slingshot dealership. Alternatively, entrants can experience the Slingshot lifestyle while on vacation by renting one through a Polaris Adventures Outfitter, which are located around the country. Facebook or Twitter and include the hashtag #SlingshotSummerFun will be entered for a chance to win a trip to Maui.
