Heidenau Tires has announced a new sponsorship agreement with premier classic race team Team Obsolete. Heidenau Tires will be supporting Team Obsolete’s priceless stable of exotic classic race bikes for the 2024 season. Heidenau has been producing tires since 1946 and for nearly 20 years has been producing a wide range of classic sizes not available elsewhere. The company’s goal is to keep racing motorcycles of all displacements and sizes out on the track where they belong. Heidenau is delighted to be working with Team Obsolete for the continual longevity of these esteemed machines, allowing them to continue clocking fast laps for years to come.
Team Obsolete was formed over 30 years ago by classic racing visionary Rob Iannucci with the aim to race rare and exotic grand prix bikes that were usually seen only in static displays or hidden away in private collections. Team Obsolete has participated in more than 1,800 races worldwide, garnered 22 Daytona wins and was the first American team ever to win the Isle of Man TT (1984) with Dave Roper on the 1959 Matchless G50 #1709. Other wins include the French GP (Paul Ricard/Toulon), Assen (Holland), Brands Hatch (U.K.), Mallala (Australia), Pukekohe (New Zealand), La Carerra (Mexico), Mosport (Canada) plus virtually every U.S. venue.
Heidenau Tires looks forward to working together to identify gaps in the classic racing tire market and hopes the new partnership will contribute to the continual growth and prosperity of the Classic Racing scene worldwide.
