Motorcycle products retailer J&P Cycles is enabling customers to invest in Wind Therapy, a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder offered through 22Kill, a non-profit dedicated to traditional and non-traditional support for U.S. Military veterans.
J&P Cycles will encourage customers on its web site and in its stores to “round up” their purchase from now through Veterans Day on Nov. 11, 2018. The company will match all customer donations and expects the total donation will exceed $10,000.
Wind therapy is a colloquial term in motorcycling for the calming effects of a motorcycle ride. It’s also the moniker for 22Kill’s unique approach to managing the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. It includes participation in motorcycle rider training, maintenance classes and peer group construction of custom motorcycles for veterans. The intent is to provide veterans with motorcycle experiences and peer interaction to stall the effects of PTSD.
“We are enabling our customers to join us in supporting Wind Therapy for vets because it allows us to share our passion for motorcycling in the best way possible,” said Zach Parham, president of J&P Cycles. “We intend to establish J&P Cycles as an organization which helps veterans at every possible opportunity. Our investment in this partnership with 22Kill is just the start of this effort.”
