HISUN Motors: Embracing the UTV Market

It’s no surprise that UTV sales are booming in the United States. From being family friendly, easy to ride and designed for both work and play, statistics show that UTV sales will continue to increase over the next few years.

It’s no surprise that UTV sales are booming in the United States. From being family friendly, easy to ride and designed for both work and play, statistics show that UTV sales will continue to increase over the next few years. Capitalizing on their craft and consumer demand, HISUN Motors is embracing the market for utility vehicles by expanding their line of ATVs and UTVs, and their steadily growing dealer network.

From humble beginnings, HISUN Motors Corporation began manufacturing private label products for some of the biggest names in the industry. Today, they’re now one of the largest providers of powersports vehicles globally, and HISUN continues to hold that title year after year.

“HISUN was started by an entrepreneur who still owns the company today, Chairman Li. He started manufacturing motorcycle parts and frames before moving to scooters for the Asian market,” said HISUN Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ryan Daugherty. “As his company grew, Chairman Li was eventually able to build a 7.1 million sq.-ft. factory in Chongqing, China, where the company is located today. Through the years, HISUN has manufactured a wide range of ATVs and UTVs in multiple engine displacements. In fact, HISUN engines were, and some still are, used by many well-known brands.”

Headquartered in McKinney, TX, HISUN Motors Corp., USA fulfills housing final assembly, technical support and parts distribution out of their 300,000-sq.-ft. facility.

“In 2012, the company began transitioning from outside distribution channels to establish dealer direct brands such as the Sector, Strike, Tactic and Forge,” Daugherty added.

Staying in-touch with what customers want, HISUN loaded their 2020 models with several must-have essentials. For example, the newly announced 2020 Sector 750 EPS features a 735cc 4-stroke EFI engine, which packs plenty of power for any challenge. The 2020 Sector is equipped with 4WD with EPS, locking differentials, Dual A-Arm, nitrogen assisted shocks and a 3,500-lb. rope winch, which gives riders confidence to blaze new trails or take on the toughest tasks.

While also focusing on the future, HISUN is on top of trends and delivers electric vehicle options for customers looking to reduce their carbon footprint. The Sector E1 LSV includes a 48-volt 27 HP AC drive train that is powerful enough to tackle the toughest terrain without the noise of a gas-powered engine.

“With the rise in popularity of the HISUN brand, we have seen increased sales year after year. This, in combination with our marketing efforts, has helped make HISUN a more recognized name in the utility vehicle market,” Daugherty said.

After years of record sales growth in the United States, in 2018, HISUN expanded into the Canadian marketplace.

“We have continued to see tremendous growth of the HISUN brand in the U.S.,” said Jason Sun, HISUN CEO. “Entering the Canadian marketplace was always a part of our continued growth strategy and the timing just seemed to align itself perfectly. Since beginning operations in Canada, we have seen quick growth and expansion of our Canadian dealer network.”

HISUN currently has more than 250 dealers nationwide and hundreds of retail outlets who proudly sell HISUN-branded UTVs and ATVs, and that number is growing.

“HISUN is a great company to work with,” said Thomas Kang, HISUN dealer development manager. “Everyone who joins our dealer network is treated like a part of the family. We made it our goal to help our dealers grow their business. When they grow, we grow, and that is of the utmost importance to us.”

In order to keep their dealer network family strong, HISUN listens to its dealers and strengthens their future towards a common goal.

“Many dealers have told us we needed an online portal to enable our dealers to manage their day to day operations with HISUN, and we listened,” said Vice President of Operations at HISUN, Shane Wilson. “We will be finalizing the HISUN Dealer Portal in Q1, which will enable our dealers to have insight into their dealer inventory, available inventory, in addition to placing part orders online, warranty register vehicles, file warranty claims and track the status of these claims. This should reduce the amount of phone calls into the service department and allow our dealers to focus on what they do best, sell the product.”

While business is booming for HISUN in 2019, big plans are on the horizon for 2020.

“We expect for 2020 to be a tremendous year for HISUN motors,” Sun said. “We are preparing to announce a new manufacturing facility and an aggressive business plan. We are headed into 2020 focused with a common goal of adding over 100 new dealers to our network. Our dealers and business partners alike can expect dedication and unparalleled support to help meet their business goals and to grow the HISUN brand.”
