FIN Assists Miami PD During High-Speed Chase to Recover Yamaha FJ-09

When the motorcycle owner confronted the thief, the latter turned a gun on him.

The Find It Now GPS Security (FIN) theft recovery team was informed by a customer that his Yamaha FJ-09 motorcycle was stolen. Using data provided by the installed FIN GPS security device, a FIN theft recovery agent was able to track and monitor the speed, heading and exact location of the stolen motorcycle while the customer contacted police.

Originating in Hialeah, Florida, the thief headed towards Miami, with the FIN device reporting speeds in excess of 110 mph. After several minutes, the motorcycle was shown to stop in Miami. The FIN theft team provided the precise location to authorities. Using the same location data from the FIN MAN app, the customer arrived at the location to find two men with his bike. As he approached them, one of the men aimed a handgun at him and the customer backed away and ran to safety. Shortly after, police and a local FIN representative arrived. As they approached the front of the building, one of the men fled with the motorcycle, and a chase ensued.

During the chase, FIN remained on the phone with the police, providing updates with each direction and speed change of the stolen FJ-09. FIN also communicated directly with the responding police helicopter, who was able to obtain a visual of the motorcycle. After continued attempts to evade police at high speeds, the suspect ultimately gave up, dumping the motorcycle and fleeing into an isolated wooded area on foot. The FJ-09 was successfully recovered, and two canine units were deployed. After several hours, no arrest was made, and the investigation is ongoing.
