RM Auctions, in association with Sotheby’s, will lift the gavel on Florida’s famed Milhous Collection Feb. 24-25, 2012 in Boca Raton.
Reflecting a fascination in all things mechanical, the collection represents over 50 years of judicious collecting by brothers Bob & Paul Milhous and is regarded as one of America’s finest private museums.
The sale features an unprecedented series of mechanical musical instruments, automobiles and collectibles, including a select series of six classic motorcycles.
After playing host to countless visitors and charitable events, the museum doors will open one final time Feb. 24-25 as the Milhous brothers offer their collection for auction. The upcoming sale will feature over 500 lots, most lots offered without reserve, presenting a diverse range of ownership opportunities for discerning collectors.
The auction will cater to bike enthusiasts with six classic motorcycles poised for the auction podium. Highlights include:
A 1972 Harley-Davidson FLH-1200 Electra-Glide Motorcycle, presented in very good condition and an excellent example for extended cruising; a 1949 Indian Scout Motorcycle, a rare survivor from Indian’s low-production period; and, a 1972 Triumph T-150V Trident Motorcycle, frequently referred to as the “first modern superbike” and the last new design from Britain’s Triumph Engineering Co. Ltd.
