Makita Power Tools has announced its return as the Official and Exclusive Power Tool of Supercross for 2011. Makita also returns as a primary sponsor of the championship-winning Rockstar Makita Suzuki Team, and World Supercross and Motocross Champion, Ryan Dungey.

Dungey is coming off a record-breaking season in 2010, winning both championships as a rookie. He is the only person to ever accomplish this feat.

The 2011 Supercross Season launches on January 8, 2011, at Anaheim Stadium in Anaheim, CA. The schedule includes 16 races in stadiums across North America, including Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, TX, and Rogers Centre in Toronto. The schedule also includes racing at historic Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL, as well as Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, a new venue for 2011. The season culminates with the championship race at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas in May.

Supercross is a part of Makita’s growing presence in racing and action sports, both as a sponsor and as a power tool of choice in the pits. Makita and Suzuki’s long term partnership has yielded over 20 championships in Supercross, Motocross, Superbike, ATV, and Amateur – including Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey’s historic 2010 championship run in Supercross and Motocross.  Makita is also a sponsor of the Rockstar Makita LeDuc Racing team in Short Course Off Road Racing, as well as the Scheuring Speed Sports Makita Tools Snocross Team.  In addition to live racing, Makita is the Official Power Tool Sponsor of Major League Soccer (MLS), and the Mexican National Soccer Team (FMF) during their competitive matches in the U.S.
