FIN GPS Recovers 2022 Yamaha MT-09

The owner tracked his motorcycle while it was on the move between states.

Find It Now (FIN) GPS Security has announced the successful recovery of a 2022 Yamaha MT-09 motorcycle. Shortly after 8 a.m., the FIN customer residing in Wilmington, Delaware, contacted FIN’s theft recovery center to report that the Yamaha was stolen from his home. After noticing an alert sent to his phone that his motorcycle was moved and contacting FIN, he utilized the FIN app to monitor the location of his motorcycle in real-time.

The local police in Delaware were notified of the theft and worked closely with other jurisdictions in two different states. The customer noticed his motorcycle traveling on I-95. FIN analyzed incoming data as it was being sent from the FIN GPS security device to find that the motorcycle was moving without the engine running, indicating that it was being transported instead of being started and ridden. This information was beneficial to authorities, as they knew to look for a transport vehicle instead of just the motorcycle itself. FIN continued assisting authorities with monitoring and tracked the motorcycle into Philadelphia, ultimately ending up in Camden, New Jersey. The motorcycle’s owner was traveling close by and at one point caught up with the thieves and realized it was not only his bike that they took but two others.

FIN tracked the Yamaha for several hours as it was constantly on the move. Once the data from the FIN device indicated that the motorcycle stopped moving, it was reported by authorities that the thieves attempted to hide his MT-09. Police arrived at the location pinpointed by the FIN device in time and were able to safely recover the stolen bike.
