Van Thorre Hired as NPA Sales Manager, Central Territory

National Powersport Auctions (NPA) has hired Denver local and longtime powersport enthusiast Marshall Van Thorre to the team as Central Territory Sales Manager. With 24 years of experience as a dealer principal, sales manager and finance manager, Van Thorre has the knowledge and understanding needed to provide unparalleled service to dealers in the Central region, which encompasses Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming and Kansas.

“As NPA continues to grow our new Denver facility, which just opened for live in-person bidding, we saw the need to break up the central region and bring in another territory sales manager to help with this effort,” said Mike Murray, VP of Sales. “Marshall [Van Thorre] is local to the Denver area, and will be able to dedicate even more time and resources to providing the best experience to our dealers. Marshall has decades of experience within a dealership. He is going to offer reputable guidance and support immediately. We’re excited to have him on our team.”

Van Thorre has been in the industry since 1997 when he and his father purchased a Honda dealership in Northern Colorado. Since then, he’s stayed within the dealer network, working as a sales manager and in the finance department at Sun Enterprises. “I’ve worked in several dealerships and been in many different roles for a long time, so I understand the inner workings of each department,” explained Van Thorre. “While I was at Sun, I was responsible for buying and consigning units through NPA, so I experienced the benefits of NPA firsthand. I’m excited to take that experience I have and help other dealers in the industry be successful and grow their businesses with the tools and services provided by NPA.”

Pre-Spring Fever

Spring is right around the corner, and much like January, February has continued to produce strengthening price metrics. While we've been very transparent about concerns over elevated levels of new and non-current inventory, average wholesale prices (AWP) through the lanes continue to improve, reflecting dealer sentiment and demand for pre-owned. With trades and street purchases becoming more difficult to source, the auction remains the dealers’ No. 1 source for used products.
