Chair of the Motorcycle Industry Council Board, Paul Vitrano, presented industry veteran Larry Little with the Motorcycle Industry Council Chairman’s Award on Jan. 21, during the virtual AIMExpo Connect presented by Dairyland trade show.

Virtano said, “I think it’s fitting, that in this first ever virtual AIMExpo show, we recognize the man who created AIMExpo in the first place. Larry Little has had an extraordinary 40-year career and his contributions to our industry will continue to benefit each and every one of us for years to come.

“As the publisher of Cycle World for over 30 years, Larry didn’t watch the evolution of the industry take place on the sidelines, he contributed directly through his work on magazines, volunteer work, consulting, and he helped define the powersports industry as we know it today.

“Larry also had a 16-year tenure on the MIC Board. Ten of those years as Chairman. He helped the association navigate challenging times and helped spearhead initiatives.

“After working at Cycle World, Larry co-founded AIMExpo at Marketplace Events, which was later acquired by the MIC. And in a fitting full circle, Larry finished his historic career as part of the MIC’s leadership team.

“Larry, for your vision and your work in the powersports industry, for bringing us together and enriching so many lives, we honor you with the MIC Chairman’s Award.”

“Thank you,” Little said after receiving the award. “It means a lot to get this award from the MIC. As you know, when I was chair, I managed to give out a lot of these awards to people who have done great work for our industry, but to receive it personally means a lot. So, thank you very much.”
