National Motorcycle Safety Fund Receives $33,300 from Comoto Brand Charity Campaign

The National Motorcycle Safety Fund, the Kurt Caselli Foundation and the Motorcycle Relief Project will each receive one third of the funds raised.

Motorcyclists stepped up to the plate in June to help Comoto Holdings – parent company of RevZilla, CycleGear, and JPCycles – raise $100,000 during Comoto’s The Ride Is Calling campaign. The National Motorcycle Safety Fund, the Kurt Caselli Foundation and the Motorcycle Relief Project will each receive one third of the funds raised.

The Ride Is Calling campaign consisted of a charity ride June 19-21, in which Comoto donated $1 for every 10 miles ridden by over 3,000 participants; a pledge of 5% of all in-store and curbside pick-up sales on June 20 from 148 Cycle Gear, J&P Cycles and RevZilla locations; and contributions from the over 32,000 individuals who visited the charity ride pages on each of the brands’ websites throughout the month.

Comoto selected the National Motorcycle Safety Fund – the non-profit arm of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation – as one of the recipients due to NMSF’s long history of advancing research, rider education, and motorcyclist safety. Since 1980, NMSF has worked to increase rider safety and motorcycle awareness through the production and distribution of educational materials, public service announcements, and riding tip booklets, as well as funding risk-factor research and other motorcycle safety initiatives administered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, the global leader in motorcycle rider training, curriculum development, and education delivery systems.

“That The Ride Is Calling campaign collected so much during this stressful time in our country proves once again that motorcyclists are generous and caring individuals who want to see a safer riding environment and help other riders in need,” said Robert Gladden, MSF’s vice president, training operations. “The $33,300 from Comoto is among the largest donations the National Motorcycle Safety Fund has received in its 40-year history, and will be put to good use in advancing its mission.”
