SUPER73 Begins R Series Delivery, Creates Custom Flat Track Build

Deliveries of the new RX and R models are being shipped in the order they were purchased, and the recently announced SUPER73-S2 is expected to begin shipping in June.

SUPER73 – the American lifestyle adventure brand specializing in electric motorbikes – has begun delivery of its highly anticipated new R Series models; the SUPER73-R and SUPER73-RX. Unveiled in January 2020, the Orange County, CA-based company is delighted to commence deliveries of its flagship model to excited customers who pre-ordered early and have been patiently waiting. The R Series represents the first of the new generation of SUPER73 electric motorbikes.

Deliveries of the new RX and R models are being shipped in the order they were purchased, and the recently announced SUPER73-S2 is expected to begin shipping in June. The new bikes arrive at an opportune time, as the demand for two-wheeled transportation has spiked during the COVID-19 shutdown. With e-bike sales up an estimated 85% in March 2020 alone, according to data from the NPD Group market research company, the new R Series is in high demand.

Also launched this week is the highly anticipated SUPER73 mobile app available for iOS, with Android devices to follow soon. Once paired with a compatible SUPER73 model, such as any of the R Series bikes or the S2, riders are able to select between four riding modes, customize dashboard features, as well as plan and track routes using the turn-by-turn GPS navigation. Furthermore, owners can perform over-the-air firmware updates to ensure their bikes are operating on the latest, most efficient charging and riding software.

An optional IoT module will be available to all ‘new generation’ SUPER73 bikes in the near future. This will enable additional features, such as remote anti-theft security, geolocation tracking and crash detection.

“Delivery of the SUPER73 R Series and the upcoming S2 represents a monumental and significant milestone for our young company,” said Aaron P. Wong, co-founder and chief brand officer for SUPER73. “The development of these new vehicles was only made possible by the overwhelming support of our incredible global community, and our dedicated team members who work passionately and tirelessly to advance the SUPER73 goal of fusing motorcycle heritage with modern youth culture.

“We are very excited to share the new R Series and S2 with the world because they represent a cumulation of innovation and ingenuity through invaluable feedback from our early supporters, as well as our unique approach to the evolving landscape of electric transportation. Not only are these vehicles the most advanced products we have created, they also serve as a platform for technology and cultural innovation. We strongly believe they can help change the perspective of last-mile transportation solutions, and perhaps even primary transportation as well,” Wong concluded.

CUSTOM SUPER73-RX

To provide inspiration for owners of the new SUPER73 R Series, the company has created a custom Flat Track RX. Building promotional vehicles is a tactic the company has regularly employed over the past few years, with recent projects including collaborations with Roland Sands Design and French soccer team, Paris Saint-Germain.

In the case of the newest project bike, its roots can be traced back to 2019 when SUPER73 had its first foray into racing, participating in the Roland Sands Super Hooligan series with a small fleet of lightly modified SUPER73 S Series bikes. During the development of the new R Series, the goal was always to create a highly capable bike that could be customized to fit a variety of challenges. On that basis, the Flat Track RX is just one example of how a little customization can go a long way to radically alter the personality of the bike. In this instance, SUPER73 fitted a shorter rear shock and lowered the front of the bike to give it a meaner stance. The added benefit of the fully adjustable stock suspension is its ability to be fine-tuned for individual tracks. Lower and wider handlebars set the rider into a more aggressive position for racing.

Using in-house rapid prototyping and fabrication equipment, a set of racing body panels were created, including a traditional-style tracker tail section with flared number plates, a protective battery cage, full-length frame skid plate, and front number plate fairing. With the subframe trimmed and the bike clad in a custom black and bronze paint scheme, the Flat Track RX remains refined but definitely likes to get dirty.

Where the rubber meets the road, or in this case the dirt track, the new SUPER73 BDGR tires (fitted standard on all the company’s new models) provide an excellent balance of light-duty off-road grip, which is perfect for ripping around a dirt track or back road.

With so many new features on the R Series models and a platform designed for freedom of expression, SUPER73 is looking forward to seeing what owners will do with their own bikes and invites them to share their creations with the SUPER73 Super Squad owner’s group.
