Getting your customer in the right helmet is a blend of what they want, what they need and most importantly, what fits them correctly.
Now we all know fitting a helmet is where a lot of mistakes are made because many people are buying solely based on previous helmet size or what they think they wear.
As a dealer, you want the business in your door, but more importantly, you want your customers to be safe, and this is your opportunity to educate them and make sure they get it right.
Always explain the safety benefits of a full-face helmet, but regardless of what style they choose, all helmets must be properly fit.
Size is only a starting point and doesn’t mean any given helmet will fit correctly. Many of your customers won’t know about round oval, intermediate oval and long oval.
Explain the difference and the additional factors that affect fit such as exchangeable padding and liners.
Let them know the importance of trying different helmets until they find one that fits as it should.
