Reeling in PWC Customers

After the release of Sea-Doo’s Fish Pro last fall, more and more fishing enthusiasts are looking at personal watercrafts for an easier, more affordable way to hit the water.

After the release of Sea-Doo’s Fish Pro last fall, more and more fishing enthusiasts are looking at personal watercrafts for an easier, more affordable way to hit the water.

Compared to a boat, PWC are less expensive to purchase, easier to store and trailer and cost much less to fuel.

There are several benefits to fishing on a PWC, including easier maintenance than boats, better maneuverability and faster time to get to a designated fishing area, which means more time to enjoy the water and the sport.

Since OEM units aren’t designed with storage space for tackle boxes, bait, coolers and rods, customers may want to modify a PWC to fit their fishing needs (if they are not Fish Pro owners). Several companies make aftermarket rigs for fishing essentials that don’t require drilling or significant modifications to the vehicle other than a few tie downs to secure the equipment to the PWC. These rigs are perfect to hold the day’s big catch and the equipment that brought the fish in.

For customers who want a more permanent fishing set up, aluminum arches are designed to fit any PWC model and can be customized for various fishing styles. These arches connect to the PWC via bolted-on Heim joints. Once secured, the arches can hold accessories, like rods in rod holders, outriggers and any other addition that a fisherman might need. A great aspect of the arches is that they can be folded or removed for travel and storage.

They are easy to install, giving your shop the opportunity to market PWC customization for your customers.

Other notable accessories for PWC fishing may include fish finders, GPS and mounting devices for electronics, along with life vests and water apparel.
