Kendon Stand-Up Trailers and Lifts has announced it is moving exclusively to dealer-direct sales beginning May 1, 2017. Kendon is ending its relationships with both Tucker Rocky/Biker’s Choice and Parts Unlimited/Drag Specialties to distribute its products, effective immediately.

Kendon Brand Manager, Steven Adams, cites increasing raw materials costs and shrinking margins as the reasons for the shift, noting that three-step distribution no longer makes sense for them, their distributors, or their dealers.

“We appreciate the relationships we’ve had with our distributors over the years. They provided a much needed service and channel to market. We would not be where we are today without our valued business partners. But our costs have increased and the three-step distribution model no longer works for anyone. We want to thank Tucker and Parts for their efforts, but it’s time for us to make a change.”

As part of the shift to a dealer-direct sales strategy, Kendon plans to offer their dealers new programs and incentives aimed at making it easier to conduct business with the folding trailer company. Kendon notes free freight, volume discounts, an aggressive rebate program, and favorable payment terms as the focal points of their new dealer program.

Kendon will begin its dealer-direct marketing and outreach program in early May with new program details being sent directly to dealers.
