In a letter to Motorcycle Industry Council members, MIC President and CEO Tim Buche congratulates Duane Taylor, director of federal affairs in the MIC, SVIA and ROHVA Government Relations Office, on his new role as executive director of the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC), effective June 1.

Duane, who has been with the MIC since 2005, and will be replacing Russ Ehnes, who is resigning to pursue other opportunities.

“We are also excited that Duane’s leadership at NOHVCC will help our joint goal of furthering a positive future for responsible OHV recreation,” says Buche. “As executive director of NOHVCC, Duane will maintain an office in our Government Relations Office. This shows our continued commitment to NOHVCC and its mission to ‘create a positive future for OHV recreation,’ which MIC, SVIA and ROHVA have long supported through major grant funding. Working in close proximity will also foster increased communication, collaboration and coordination between association and NOHVCC staff. Each organization will benefit from the shared resources and expertise.”

The move also opens up an opportunity for MIC’s associations to invest in two new positions: a senior government relations professional and a government relations specialist, giving its government relations representation a bigger footprint in Washington, D.C. The MIC has begun its search to fill the new positions.
