One wild build, even for the guys at wide open company

SR_IMG_5079[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ide Open Company, Inc. (WOC) has long been known in the side-by-side utility industry for making high-end, “first class” enclosures for a number of brands of UTVs. The company also does custom builds for people and businesses that require something special. So when a call came from this customer wanting an eight-passenger Polaris Ranger 900XP fully enclosed with heat, WOC was more than willing to take on the project.

The build time took about 110 days from inception to delivered vehicle, but in looking at the dates on progress photos the actual build took about 60 days and now that it has been done the next one won’t take as long.  The first few weeks was spent building jigs and specialty tools to do the job.

The stretch was 32-inches and required lengthening not only the frame and roll cage, but all the mechanical and electrical as well. The framework of the vehicle was also heavily reinforced to handle the extra length and weight that it would be hauling.

This list of accessories added to this build were many, such as the stereo system which was set into three overhead consoles with a 10 inch sub-woofer.

They will be introducing new lines in the future and continue to manufacture for the older Rangers, Bobcats and the Yamaha Rhino.
