Moto Armory, a collection of more than 600 vintage motorcycles in East Moline, Ill., will be the title sponsor of the off-road competition program at the American Motorcyclist Association Vintage Grand Championship, which runs in conjunction with AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, July 10-12, at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
The Moto Armory AMA Off-Road Vintage Grand Championship includes the motocross, hare scrambles and trials competition that takes place during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, the country’s grandest celebration of vintage motorcycles and the people who love them.
Pre-entry for all the racing at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is available now at www.xtrm.com/web/Promoter/Event/EventInformation.aspx?Pf3sDiwaB7xDxCdB06ec/A==12abc12.
As part of the title sponsorship, Moto Armory will be on location with premier examples from its vast collection, which focuses on off-road models. It ranges from pristine examples of trail bikes from the 1970s to world championship, one-of-a-kind works bikes raced by AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers.
“Once Moto Armory took their first trip to the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, I realized this was something that we needed to be a part of — it was colossal,” said Tom Reese, owner and chief executive officer of Moto Armory. “We feel there is a tremendous amount of responsibility in preserving and sharing the off-road and dirt bike racing history. So as AMA celebrates the 25th anniversary of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, Moto Armory, the world’s largest dirt bike collection, will open for its first year of operations to the general public in the fall of 2015. We have amassed over 600 museum quality, restored motorcycles for this endeavor, along with various vintage parts, memorabilia and signage. Our team will be working feverishly around the clock to prepare the museum for the public to enjoy.”

The AMA Vintage Grand Championship awards AMA National No. 1 plates in motocross, hare scrambles, trials and road racing. In addition, the dirt track races that take place the same weekend at the nearby Ashland County Fairgrounds are a round of the AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Championship Series.
