Ducati Unveiled Two New Models at the Long Beach International Motorcycle Show

Closely following the company’s 2015 World Premiere at EICMA, Ducati North America’s CEO, Dominique Cheraki, presented the brand’s new flagship superbike, the 1299 Panigale, and the new generation Multistrada 1200 for the first time on North American soil during the press preview at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show (IMS) in Long Beach, Calif.
The new Ducati 1299 Panigale and Multistrada 1200 were showcased for public viewing at the Long Beach Convention Center from Nov. 14 to 16. All four Ducati Scrambler models were on display.
The 1299 Panigale builds on the engineering and design achievements that were introduced with the 1199 Panigale to create this extreme superbike. The new 1299 Panigale is an even more powerful and responsive motorcycle, while at the same time easier and safer to ride, thanks to category-leading technological enhancements.
Multistrada 1200
A new standard is reached for the ultimate “four bikes in one.” With the introduction of the completely redesigned Multistrada 1200, this is the first in the motorcycle industry to feature DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) technology. In addition, the Multistrada 1200 sets new electronics benchmarks, enhancing performance and safety, and now includes electronic cruise control as a standard feature.
“For Ducati, 2015 is a milestone,” stated Cheraki. “As Ducati enthusiasts will be able to choose from a range more technologically advanced and innovatively designed than ever. A sports bike, the 1299 Panigale, that promises to set a whole new on-track standard thanks to raw power and sophisticated electronics, and a new all-round Multistrada 1200 that combines sports handling and performance with smoothness and low fuel consumption at a whole new level. With ‘The Land of Joy,’ the Scrambler brand will be providing dealerships with a breath of fresh air and high spirits, offering a bike with a never-before-seen mix of motorcycling modernity and heritage.”
