Harley-Davidson of Panama City Beach Breaks Ground for Dealership

The new dealership will feature more than 38,000 square feet of retail and service space. Those interested in learning to ride can take lessons on-site through the Rider's Edge Course, and the dealership will also include a stage and event facility to host community and charity events. Construction is slated to be complete in the spring.

Ground has been broken for the new Harley‐Davidson of Panama City Beach, located at 14700 Panama City Beach Parkway in Florida.

Owners Preston Farrior and Gary Bang chose the location because of Panama City Beach’s strong promise of population and economic growth as well as the growing tourist industry. “This is a beautiful place to live,” said Bang, “and there are a lot of people around the area that like to ride. We believe the dealership will also help to attract riders from all over the world who want to come here to vacation.”

While the Harley dealership is new to the area, Farrior and Bang bring a rich and long family history to the motoring community. “My family has been in the motorcycle business since 1911,” said Bang. “I grew up working in the shop and racing bikes; it is definitely in my blood.”

Farrior’s family started its business with a bicycle shop in Tampa in 1895. From there, the business evolved to selling cars and then motorcycles. “Because of our family histories in the business, we bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the organization and we apply that every day to make sure our guests have a premium Harley-Davidson experience,” he said.

The dealership will have more than 38,000 square feet of retail and service space. A large showroom floor will feature the newest rides, as well as a large selection of used bikes of all makes and models. The Motorclothes department will feature a wide variety of apparel. Other items, such as jewelry, glassware and H-D home decor, will also be available for purchase.

For those riders who want to add a little something extra to their motorcycle, the full service Parts and Accessories department will be standing by to help. Chrome Consultants can help add a little or a lot of shine, while the Fit Shop will help guests choose the right handlebars, seats and other accessories to ensure their bike is the perfect fit for them. The dealership will also feature a full service department with six service bays and a complete detail area.

In addition, new riders can take lessons at the dealership’s on-site training room and riding range through the Rider’s Edge Course. The course provides students with motorcycles and teaches safe riding practices.

The dealership will also add a stage and event facility to its five acres. It hopes to host an array of community and charity events on-site in the future.

Construction is slated to be complete in the spring.
