Baja Racing of Texas Names VP As Official Fuel

Under this agreement, VP will be the exclusive on-site fuel supplier, serving up its C12 racing fuel at the second annual Chupacabra 300 race at Texana Ranch, which will take place Oct. 4-7.

Baja Racing of Texas has announced that VP Racing Fuels will be its official fuel for the 2012 season. Under this agreement, VP will be the exclusive on-site fuel supplier, serving up its C12 racing fuel at the second annual Chupacabra 300 race at Texana Ranch, which will take place Oct. 4-7.

“We are proud to continue our relationship with VP Racing Fuels,” said Chris Leitner, president of Baja Racing of Texas. “VP’s support of off-road racing in Texas is confirmation that we are doing the right things for the sport.”

“We’re excited about our partnership with BRT and look forward to working with them to help spur the growth of off-road racing in Texas,” said Brad Horton, VP’s central regional manager. “Performance fuel is our passion and since 1975, it’s been the primary focus of everything we do. We view fuel as a performance part — as critical to a racing program as a camshaft or piston. It’s gratifying to help racers achieve some of the most cost-effective performance gains they can buy.”

BRT’s second annual Chupacabra 300 will serve as closure to the 2012 racing season. Activities will kick off with early registration and tech inspection on Thursday followed by Friday pre-run and Friday afternoon qualifying for the Unlimited vehicles. Race day will kick off at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, and the event wraps up with the Chupacabra 300 awards and the presentation of the 2012 overall champions on Sunday morning.

In light of the current issues plaguing the southern borders of the U.S. and the ongoing changes plaguing the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) over land use on the West Coast, Texas is primed to be the future of off-road racing in the United States. Leitner stated, “When you look at the states that have the land to hold these types of events, the list is very short. Texas really is the next step for the off-road community."
