Yamato Co., Ltd., is proud to introduce its 1/6 Museum Model, Vol 1: Kawasaki Z1 1972 (Candy Brown). The model, which is based on the rare Z1 known as The Early Type (Frame Number 44), took five years and more than 1,600 pieces to complete.
To replicate the Z1, Yamato gathered original parts from motorcycle shops and passionate collectors around the world. The company then utilized 3-D laser scanning technology to scan each part and transfer the data into CAD to create precise prototypes for molds. Yamato also employed an elaborate process of separating, gluing and painting small parts or replicating them using special synthetic materials more suitable for such extreme sizes than die-cast or plastic.
The Z1 Museum Model enables the customer to disassemble and assemble it just as he or she would have done with a real Z1. The side cover, as well as the fuel tank, seat, handle bars, muffler and tires, can all be removed using special tools included. The model can also be customized to create a unique, one-of-a-kind motorcycle with extra parts such as handle bars, footboards, seats, tires and more all of which are now under development in joint effort with Yoshimura and other famous custom parts manufacturers.
