Harley-Davidson Reports Q3 Down 8.1 Percent in the U.S.

Harley’s worldwide retail motorcycle sales were down 6.9% compared to the same period in 2016. Harley-Davidson U.S. retail motorcycle sales were down 8.1%, with the overall U.S. industry down 9.2% for the same period.

EBR Motorcycle Factory to be Liquidated

EBR Motorcycles (Erik Buell Racing) of East Troy, WI, has not secured a new investor and intends to consolidate its long-term parts for dealer and warranty support. Liquid Asset Partners, of Grand Rapids, MI will hold a piecemeal liquidation sale and live auction at EBR’s factory for all remaining assets.

Harley-Davidson, Inc. 2017 first quarter net income was $186.4 million on consolidated revenue of $1.50 billion versus net income of $250.5 million on consolidated revenue of $1.75 billion in the first quarter of last year.

Harley-Davidson Reports Fourth Quarter, Full-Year 2016 Results

For the full-year 2016, worldwide Harley-Davidson retail motorcycle sales were down 1.6 percent compared to 2015. U.S. retail sales decreased 3.9 percent, partially offset by international growth of 2.3 percent.

Harley-Davidson second quarter 2016 earnings per share increased 7.6 percent to $1.55 compared to $1.44 in the same period in 2015. Net income was $280.4 million on consolidated revenue of $1.86 billion compared to net income of $299.8 million on consolidated revenue of $1.82 billion in last year’s second quarter.

Polaris Industries Inc. has reported first quarter net income of $46.9 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 compared to $88.6 million reported in the first quarter of 2015, in-line with company expectations.

Harley Reports Retail Motorcycle Sales Up Worldwide in Q1, But U.S. Sales Down

Harley-Davidson has reported that worldwide retail motorcycle sales in the first quarter were up 1.4 percent, driven by a 4.5 percent increase in international markets.
