Vanderhall Motor Works announced the appointment of Jeff Whaley to the newly created position of Vice President of Sales and Operations. Whaley brings more than 30 years of experience in automotive and powersports sales and dealership management to the Utah manufacturer of three-wheeled autocycles.
“This past summer, I met with Jeff to discuss dealer-offered warranty options for Vanderhall,” said Vanderhall Founder/CEO Steve Hall. “I quickly realized that he was the perfect person to expand our domestic dealer base and, more importantly, lead our international sales efforts.”
Whaley’s career began at a Pontiac dealership in 1984. He eventually became a partner in a different General Motors dealership in Georgia and ultimately sold his interest in that business to become principal owner in a powersports dealership.
“I’m a life-long motorcycle enthusiast, and it was a dream to have a motorcycle store,” Whaley said. “We brought our auto experience to the powersport arena, and in doing so became the largest-volume Victory motorcycle dealer in the country.”
Whaley sat on several dealer council boards through the years and learned the manufacture wholesale side of the business.
Thereafter, Whaley served as National Business Director at Tomberlin, a manufacturer of street-legal golf carts. More recently, he was COO of Petty’s Garage, Richard Petty’s speed shop and bespoke vehicle-customizing business, prior to starting his own dealer-services consulting company.
“I look forward to helping Vanderhall add more bricks to its already solid foundation,” Whaley said. “We are going to expand our footprint in the three-wheel market. Unlike our competitors, we only build one core product: autocycles. Vanderhall will lead the charge in this market – domestically in the immediate future and ultimately internationally.”
