Akrapovic Welcomes Stars Marco Wittmann and Andrea Dovizioso

Akrapovič recently received a visit to its factory in Ivančna Gorica from Ducati’s MotoGP star Andrea Dovizioso and the 2014 DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) champion Marco Wittmann of BMW Motorsport.
Dovizioso and Wittmann were then surprise guests at Akrapovič’s annual workers’ assembly and they joined senior Akrapovič staff on stage at a separate venue for over 700 employees. The pair both made the journey to see the work that goes into the exhausts for their racing machines and to take the opportunity to say thank you to the workers for the great support they’ve both received. The pair stayed at the event to sign autographs for the staff and have their photos taken next to their respective bike and car.
Dovizioso and Wittmann met company owner Igor Akrapovič and CEO Uroš Rosa before their surprise visit to the workers’ assembly and were given an in-depth exclusive tour of the state-of-art- Slovenian company’s high-tech premises. The pair enjoyed behind-the-scenes access to the detailed manufacturing process that goes into developing, manufacturing, and testing the exhaust systems for their machines. They were taken through the entire procedure—from the raw product state right through to the finished system in the company’s extensive testing department.
This was Dovizioso’s first visit to the Akrapovič factory, and Wittmann was on his second trip to the company’s headquarters. They followed up their visit by spending some time with local media to share their views on the Akrapovič factory and give their thoughts on what they’d seen before heading off to meet the personnel that make the Akrapovič exhaust systems so the pair can race at the highest level in their individual disciplines.
