Sygic Motorbike Mode Adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto to Motorcycle Displays

Rider-focused mapping, weather and hazard alerts now display on factory dashes.

Following strong rider demand, Sygic’s dedicated motorcycle navigation experience is now available through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-enabled motorcycles. The navigation experience is designed to keep riders focused on the road while providing essential journey information at a glance.

The update follows the launch of Sygic Motorbike Mode in March, when Sygic introduced a navigation experience designed specifically for riders rather than adapting a standard car navigation interface. The feature was developed with direct input from motorcycle enthusiasts within the Sygic team and the wider riding community, bringing together rider-focused routing, weather awareness, road elevation data, terrain profiles, lean angle information and a simplified user interface optimized for motorcycle use.

From Rider Feedback to Motorcycle Dashboards

Since launch, one request has consistently stood out among riders: bring the complete Motorbike Mode experience to motorcycle infotainment displays. Sygic responded.

Motorcyclists can now access the dedicated Motorbike Mode through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Update 26.4 enables riders to use Sygic’s motorcycle-specific navigation directly on the built-in screens of compatible motorcycles, providing a safer, more convenient and more immersive riding experience.

Compatible connectivity is already available on many popular touring and adventure motorcycles, including models such as the Honda Gold Wing, Honda Africa Twin, Honda NT1100 and selected Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles equipped with modern infotainment systems. At the same time, Sygic’s Motorbike navigation works on all aftermarket CarPlay and Android Auto devices.

Motorbike Mode Design, Interface

While many navigation apps mirror a standard car interface onto a motorcycle display, Sygic has designed Motorbike Mode around the specific needs of two-wheelers. To give users the best possible experience with CarPlay and Android Auto, Sygic featured the same navigation elements as in the phone app.

For iPhone users, the interface incorporates Apple’s latest design principles (iOS liquid design), creating a cleaner and more intuitive visual experience. Sygic has also developed pulsing visual alerts that help riders immediately notice important route events, including accidents, hazards and changing weather conditions.

Additional rider-specific information includes:

  • Elevation data and terrain profile
  • Weather forecast at the destination upon arrival
  • Fuel station awareness
  • Motorcycle-friendly routing options with twisty roads and scenic routes

“We wanted to create a navigation experience that truly reflects how motorcyclists ride and what information matters most to them. Bringing Motorbike Mode to motorcycle displays is the next natural step in that vision and a direct response to what riders have been asking for,” said Lukas Dermek, head of product at Sygic.

Benefits on Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

Displaying Motorbike Mode directly on a motorcycle’s built-in screen offers several practical advantages for riders, already proven by passenger car drivers. A larger display area enables improved visibility of navigation instructions and easier interaction through existing motorcycle controls and infotainment interfaces.

Integration with the audio system or connection with a helmet makes the navigation voice guidance more comfortable and clearer for a driver.
