Pirelli will replace the current 16.5˝ tires with 17˝ tires remaining close to its philosophy of transferring the know-how gained in competitions to motorcyclists all over the world
Pirelli has announced that starting from 2013, it will begin supplying all the tires for the World Superbike Championship (currently 16.5˝) in the 17˝ size. Pirelli says this radical option will allow it to remain even closer to its philosophy towards competition with solutions developed in racing transferring into road going products.
Pirelli’s 16.5˝ Diablo Superbike tires are currently used not only in the Superbike World Championship, but also in World Endurance, and others. The company’s 17" tires have already been successful in the local superbike championships in New Zealand, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Sweden, Canada, Malaysia and other local championships.
