The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) announced that its president and chief executive officer Tim Buche has accepted an invitation from Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) chief executive officer Guy Maitre to serve on an international panel of judges charged with determining the winners of the FIM Road Safety Award.

“The FIM is honored to call upon the expertise of Tim Buche and the MSF,” said the FIM’s Maitre. “Over the years, the FIM and MSF have cooperated many times. We look forward to working with Tim and welcome his input regarding the individuals, organizations or commercial companies that merit this award.”

Inaugurated in 2010, the FIM Road Safety Award represents the global recognition of safety-oriented programs in motorcycling that demonstrate innovation, initiative and specific leadership qualities. Buche will be one of several international judges serving on the panel.

“I would like to thank Guy Maitre and the FIM for offering me this wonderful opportunity,” said Buche. “My work is guided by the MSF Board of Directors, which supports my participation and encourages the MSF’s ongoing international relations. I believe that motorcycling and motorcycle safety are a universal language, and I’m honored to be serving alongside a number of distinguished judges who will determine the final winners of the FIM Road Safety Award.”

The MSF includes a membership of leading multi-national manufacturers and distributors. As a result, the MSF supports international conferences and licenses its curricula programs internationally.

The MSF is a not-for-profit organization sponsored by BMW, BRP, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Piaggio, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha. For safety information or to enroll in a rider course, visit www.msf-usa.org.
