FIN GPS Security announced the successful recovery of a 2019 Yamaha MT-10 motorcycle.
The Find It Now (FIN) theft recovery team received notice from a customer whose 2019 Yamaha MT-10 motorcycle had been stolen. A theft recovery agent used the “Find It Now” feature to track the customer’s motorcycle and instantly received information of the stolen Yamaha’s speed, heading, vehicle voltage and specific latitude/longitude coordinates. The vehicle voltage indicated that the motorcycle battery was still connected and the engine was not running — both beneficial pieces of information that aid in monitoring.
The FIN theft recovery team notified the motorcycle owner that his GPS security device was reporting his bike to be in Miami, over 200 miles away from his home in Orlando, Florida. The FIN customer called his local police department and relayed the data. FIN contacted authorities in Miami with a case number, and they immediately dispatched multiple cars to the location of the motorcycle.
The Yamaha MT-10 was in a desolate, isolated area and did not move. Miami authorities, leveraging the pinpoint location data provided by FIN, successfully recovered the motorcycle in an area surrounded by large trees and bushes. No arrests were made, as the thief was not present at the site; however the case remains ongoing.
