According to www.cycleworld.com, MV Agusta is honoring Giacomo Agostini, the Italian multi-time world Grand Prix motorcycle road racing legend, with a new Superveloce model, dubbed the Superveloce Ago in homage to him.
The special edition Superveloce Ago hearkens back to the look of the MV Agusta bikes Agostini used in the ‘60s and ‘70s during his road races, using the red and silver colorways from his time.
The MV Agusta Superveloce will be available in 311 numbered and signed units, a tribute to Agostini’s victories when riding for MV. This bike is an 800cc three-cylinder rated at 147 horsepower and 65 pound-feet of torque.
It features:
- Fully electronically managed Öhlins 43-millimeter male-slider NIX fork and gas-charged Öhlins TTX shock
- Mostly carbon fiber body parts, with the exception of the fuel tank as well as the upper triple clamp, shift pedal and rear brake pedal, the latter three of which are machined from aluminum billet
- Wire wheels with a unique spoke layout and design
- Alacantra seat
- Six-axis inertial platform to manage all rider aids, including Continental MK 100 auto-brake system, traction control, wheelie control and launch control
- 5.5-inch TFT instrumentation panel that acts as a connectivity center, offering smartphone connectivity
- Pirelli Diablo Corsa Rosso II radials: a 120/70-17 front and a 180/55-17 rear.
- Full Brembo brakes with twin 320-millimeter rotor and four-piston Monoblock calipers in front and a single 220-millimeter rotor and two-piston caliper in the rear
A racing kit is also available, including street-legal three-pipe Arrow exhaust, which, when combined with a dedicated engine control unit, can push the bike to 151 horsepower.
