The AMA congratulates the 2018 class champions for the AMSOIL AMA Arenacross and AMA Amateur National Arenacross Championship, crowned at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, May 4-6.
In the AMSOIL AMA Arenacross, Kawasaki rider Jacob Hayes took a second-place and a win to secure his first Arenacross 250AX title.
In the AX Lites class, Kawasaki rider Ryan Breece led the race start to finish as he locked up his AX Lites West Class Championship.
In the AX Lites East Class, Honda rider Heath Harrison’s fourth-place finish in the AX Lites Main Event gave him enough points to edge out Kawasaki rider Issac Teasdale to claim the class championship.
In the 19th annual AMA Amateur National Arenacross Championship, hundreds of riders competed in 27 competition classes to determine 28 AMA National Championships. Riders Mikah Carpenter and Jeremy Ryan were the winningest riders during the weekend’s action. Each rider took home three class championships.
The 2018 season marked the finales for both the AMSOIL AMA Arenacross Series and AMA Amateur National Arenacross Championship. They are to be replaced by the new Supercross Futures Series for the 2019 season. Details about the Supercross Futures Series will be announced soon.
