Genuine Scooters has announced a national contest to win a limited edition 50cc scooter in celebration of its 10-year anniversary selling its successful line of Buddy scooters. One lucky person will ride off on a Buddy anniversary 50cc scooter, specially equipped and designed in a retro-inspired metallic teal blue color.

The contest will run from March 1 through March 31, with applications taken at any of the 240 Genuine Scooter dealers across the country. No purchase is necessary, but you must be 18 to enter and all taxes, freight, accessories and set-up fees are excluded.

And for those who don’t win, the limited edition Buddy anniversary scooter is still available for purchase in both 50cc and 125cc models. While the Buddy Anniversary Scooter is vintage inspired, it is loaded with stylish modern upgrades that include:

  • Sport Tuned Suspensions: upgraded front fork springs on the 125 and an adjustable rear sport shock on both models;
  • Upgraded Front Disc Brakes: custom front wave rotor, high performance braided steel front brake lines and a silver sport caliper;
  • Sport Brake Levers;
  • Whitewall Tires;
  • Low Profile Seat;
  • Limited Edition Badging;
  • Limited Edition Diamond Blue Paint with matching rear grab rail.

The Buddy 50 engine size makes it drivable in most states with only a standard auto license, has a MSRP of $1,999 and will go 30+ MPH at 100 MPG. The Buddy 125 anniversary scooter has a MSRP of $2,699, boasts a top speed of 50+ MPH and mileage of 90 MPG.  Both come with an industry leading 2-year, unlimited-mile Genuine Confidence Warranty and Roadside Assistance Program, supported by a network of 240 Genuine Authorized Dealers across the country.

Both Buddy Scooter anniversary models are environmentally friendly: the average car gets 28 mile per gallon compared to close to 100 miles per gallon for a scooter; a car emits 0.93 pounds of carbon dioxide per mile, compared with 0.31 pounds for a scooter; a car produces 21/times as much greenhouse gas as a scooter per mile driven.
